Job summary

Nevada Department of Transportation in Beatty is seeking a Highway Maintenance Supervisor 1 to lead a district crew, plan daily maintenance activities, and oversee safety and performance. The role includes coordinating equipment, materials, and budgets, and guiding staff through evaluations and disciplinary actions.

The incumbent will respond to emergencies 24/7, supervise diverse maintenance tasks, and ensure compliance with department policies while supporting district leadership in project

Qualifications

• Experience leading highway maintenance crews and evaluating staff performance.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and monitor routine maintenance and district betterment projects.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day and act as incident commander when required.

Responsibilities

• Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned highway maintenance staff; establish work standards and disciplinary actions as appropriate.
• Plan, schedule, and inspect routine maintenance activities and major projects; coordinate equipment, materials, and resources.
• Respond to emergencies, manage traffic control, and coordinate with law enforcement during storms or incidents.
