Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to lead complex transportation projects in the Boston area, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and delivering safe, durable roadways and multimodal solutions.

You will apply Civil 3D/AutoCAD/MicroStation, MassDOT standards, and collaborate across disciplines to meet project milestones within budget. A PE license and 10+ years' highway design experience are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience.
• Highway/roadway design experience required; hydraulic design experience preferred.
• MassDOT design experience required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Participation in professional engineering societies/organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical execution of complex highway/rail designs, reports and specifications.
• Provide expert consultation and resolve highly complex technical issues across multimodule transportation projects.
• Lead advanced technical projects and collaborate with other departments and project management to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Develop and manage discipline work plans aligned with project milestones, budgets, and schedules.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers, including technical reviews and support.
• Deliver technical development of proposals and external presentations to clients and regulatory agencies.
