Job summary

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Senior Engineering Designer to join our Highway & Rail Team across multiple office locations (Keene NH; Boston MA; Burlington MA; Norwell MA; Hartford CT; Portland ME; Providence RI).

You will design highways and rail facilities, mentor others, and work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality design deliverables. The role emphasizes leading drawings, coordinating with engineers, and supporting project requirements, schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum 7 years in document production within engineering required.
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and MS Office; clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and development of contract and construction drawings for highway and rail projects using MicroStation/OpenRoads.
• Mentor junior/mid-level designers to ensure quality and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineers and project teams to support schedules and budgets.
• Prepare technical reports, cost estimates and as-built documentation as needed.
• Assist with field assignments and project reviews.
