Job summary

LaBella Associates in New York is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer to manage transportation projects, oversee client relationships, and help lead business development. The candidate will act as a technical specialist or project manager on mid-to-large projects, collaborating with market leadership to grow the client base.

Required are a Bachelor’s in civil engineering, 15+ years of transportation/PM experience, and a NY PE license (Master’s preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required; Master’s degree a plus.
• 15+ years of transportation/project management experience.
• NY PE license is required; additional state licenses/credentials are a plus.
• Experience on NYSDOT, NYSTA, and Local Federal Aid projects.
• Established relationships within the industry required.
• Demonstrates strong business development skills and ability to secure new work.
• Strong project management skills and knowledge of PM processes.
• Experience with proposals and presenting for new work.
• Articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and to large groups.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees assigned projects.
• Participates in business development activities and meetings with clients.
• Prepares and coordinates proposal efforts to secure work.
• Performs technical tasks: research, reports, design, specification and plans.
• Manages project scope, schedule and budget; serves as primary client liaison.
• Develops key client relationships and acts as a primary company contact.
• Manages and develops junior and mid-level staff.
