LaBella Associates in New York seeks a Senior Highway Engineer to manage transportation projects, oversee client relationships, and collaborate with market leadership to develop new business.

The ideal candidate will be technically adept in transportation engineering, hold a NY PE license, and have 15+ years’ experience in transportation/project management with a proven track record on NYSDOT/NYSTA projects.

Job description

LaBella Associates is currently seeking a Senior Highway Engineer in one of our New York office locations to manage transportation projects, manage relationships with existing clients and work with market leadership to develop new clients. LaBella’s New York office locations include Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Poughkeepsie, and White Plains, . The successful candidate must be technically astute in transportation engineering and have a proven background of management leadership on transportation projects. This role will often include working as a technical specialist or project manager on mid to large size projects.

Duties

• Manages and oversees their assigned projects.
• Participates in, and conducts business development activities, including organizing and/or attending meetings with clients.
• Prepares and coordinates proposal efforts to secure work.
• Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
• \Actively manages project scope, schedule and budget. Serves as the primary client liaison to bring the schedule, budgets and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
• Develops and enhances key client relationships and serves as one of the primary company contacts.
• Manages and develops junior and mid-level staff.

Salary Range: $150,000 - $195,000 per year

The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required; Master’s degree a plus.
• 15+ years of transportation/Project Manager Experience.
• NY PE license is required. Additional State licenses and accreditations is a plus.
• Experience on NYSDOT, NYSTA, and Local Federal Aid projects.
• Established relationships within the industry required.
• Possesses strong business development skills.
• Demonstrates strong project management qualities and excellent knowledge of project management processes.
• Experience with putting together winning proposals and delivering presentations for new work.
• An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one‑on‑one and in front of large groups.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationships skills.
