Job summary

CDM Smith’s New England Transportation team seeks a Task Leader for highway design projects across the New England region. Based in Boston, MA; East Hartford, CT; or Manchester, NH, you will guide technical work and deliver innovative transportation solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee design development, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with Project Leaders to meet client needs on high-complexity highway projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Around 10 years of related transportation engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the technical advancement of highway design projects from concept to final deliverables.
• Provide day-to-day oversight of transportation planning and design projects.
• Mentor, supervise, and guide junior engineers and designers.
• Develop design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project leaders to meet client requirements on high-complexity work.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; sign/seal as required.
• Conduct site reviews, update design requirements as needed, and support proposals.
