Job summary

CDM Smith’s New England Transportation team seeks a Task Leader for highway design projects in the New England region. This role can be based in Boston, MA; East Hartford, CT; or Manchester, NH offices.

You will lead design efforts, mentor junior staff, and deliver innovative solutions for complex transportation challenges. You will oversee project leadership, design development, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while collaborating with project teams to meet milestones

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil/transportation/structural engineering or related field.
Professional Engineering (PE) license required.
10 years of related experience; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Lead highway design projects and ensure technical accuracy across the project lifecycle.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and training.
Develop design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specs and cost estimates.
Collaborate with Project Leaders and Managers to deliver high-complexity projects.
Review designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations; sign/ seal where required.
Perform site reviews and studies; update requirements as needed.
Support proposals; review client RFPs and draft proposals.
