Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Task Leader for highway design within the New England Transportation team. This role can be based in Boston, MA, East Hartford, CT, or Manchester, NH, and involves leading technical work, mentoring staff, and delivering innovative transportation solutions.

You will coordinate design criteria, cost estimates, and construction plans while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering.
Professional Engineering (PE) license.
10 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Equivalent additional directly related experience considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

Coordinate the technical advancement of highway design projects and ensure accuracy throughout the project lifecycle.
Oversee day-to-day transportation planning and design projects and ensure milestones are met.
Mentor and supervise junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Develop project design criteria, alignments, construction plans, specifications and cost estimates.
Collaborate with Project Leaders and Project Managers to deliver high-complexity projects.
Review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; sign and seal where required.
Perform site reviews and studies to ensure designs meet location specifications.
Assist with proposal development and review draft proposals for compliance.
