Job summary

DCS Asset Maintenance, LLC is seeking an experienced estimator to support growth in performance-based maintenance contracts for roadways and bridges. You will prepare detailed estimates for bids by gathering data, working with operators, and presenting options to leadership.

The ideal candidate has advanced numerical skills and strong analytical abilities, plus the ability to manage relationships with subcontractors and suppliers and communicate effectively with executives.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of proven experience as estimator or similar position.
• Experience with highway or structures asset maintenance is a plus.
• In-depth knowledge of financial and project management principles.
• Advanced math and IT ability with an analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• High level of integrity with the ability to handle sensitive information.
• Ability to present to executives.
• Ability to work non-standard hours during heavy periods.

Responsibilities

• Understand the performance-based maintenance contracting business model.
• Understand the project/program and its requirements.
• Determine key variables for cost and other estimates.
• Gather first-hand information from sites, suppliers, subcontractors, and operators.
• Conduct research to obtain data on labor costs, materials, production times, etc.
• Use software for data analysis, modeling, forecasting and budgeting.
• Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors.
• Create and submit estimate reports and/or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, company leadership, etc.).
• Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, etc.).
• Present bids to Company Leadership at gate reviews.
