Job summary

Clearway Energy is seeking a High Voltage Technician to oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of MV & HV electrical equipment for wind energy projects at our Alta site in Mojave, CA. The ideal candidate has at least five years' experience in troubleshooting and maintenance of high voltage systems in power generation or similar settings.

You will perform switching, grounding, calibration, and testing on 230kV systems, mentor site personnel, ensure compliance with NFPA 70E and safety

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of high voltage systems.
• Experience in power generation or similar industrial setting preferred.
• Completion of formal apprenticeship or equivalent training required.

Responsibilities

• Support high voltage maintenance and troubleshooting; ensure compliance with electrical standards.
• Review and perform high voltage switching and grounding per procedures.
• Service and repair high voltage systems up to 230KV (overhead, underground, substations).
• Instruct and assist site personnel in safe work practices.
• Manage permits, testing, and contractor coordination for outages.
• Monitor relay calibration and document test reports.
• Maintain logs, equipment manuals and test records.
