Job summary

Clearway Energy Group seeks a High Voltage Technician to oversee operation, maintenance, and repair of MV/HV equipment for wind energy projects at our Alta site in Mojave, CA. A minimum of five years of HV experience is required, including switchgear, grounding, and test instrumentation.

You will train site personnel in safe practices, coordinate outages, verify permits, and ensure documentation for all modifications. The role may require alternate shifts and overtime depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Five years of relevant HV/MV experience required.
• Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training required.

Responsibilities

• Support high voltage maintenance and troubleshooting to standards.
• Perform HV switching and grounding per procedures.
• Service and repair MV/HV systems up to 230KV.
• Train site personnel in safe work practices.
• Coordinate outages, permits, and testing equipment.
• Record test results and maintain logs.
• Lead or assist contracted testing personnel during outages.
• Ensure documentation for equipment modifications.
