Job summary

Clearway Energy Group's High Voltage Technician role at the Alta site in Mojave, CA oversees operation, maintenance, and repair of MV & HV equipment for wind energy projects. Ideal candidates have at least five years of HV experience, a high school diploma or GED, and completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training.

Knowledge of NFPA 70E, safety procedures, and the ability to work with contractors is valued.

Qualifications

• Five years of relevant experience in troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of high voltage systems.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Completion of a formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and Arc Flash hazards.
• Valid driver’s license – Class B, or Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support HV maintenance and troubleshooting per standards.
• Perform HV switching and grounding per procedures.
• Service and repair HV systems up to 230KV.
• Train site personnel on safe work practices.
• Coordinate outages, permits, and contractor activities.
• Be onsite during planned outages to supervise and verify work.
• Oversee relay calibration and document test reports.
• Maintain logs and documentation.
• Work alternate shifts and overtime as required.
