Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated seeks an experienced Senior High Voltage Electrical Engineer to lead the design of critical electrical infrastructure for hyperscale data centers. You will oversee HV/MV distribution, substations, and on-site generation from concept to commissioning.

The role requires in-depth HV/MV expertise, utility interconnection coordination, and a track record of delivering complex capital projects for mission-critical facilities.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree required.
• 8-12 years of progressive electrical engineering experience with focus on high voltage power systems and mission-critical facilities.
• PE license in good standing or ability to obtain licensure in multiple states.
• Deep expertise in MV (4.16kV-35kV) and HV (69kV-230kV) system design and interconnection.
• Strong knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure including redundant power architectures.
• Experience with electrical analysis software and utility interconnection processes.
• LEED AP or related sustainability credential is a plus.
• Experience with hyperscale data center operators or large colocation providers.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of high voltage systems for hyperscale data centers.
• Develop electrical system architectures for reliability, redundancy, and scalability (N+1, 2N, 2N+1).
• Design utility-scale substations and campus distribution schemes.
• Perform load flow, short-circuit, arc flash, and transient analyses; coordinate protections.
• Lead utility interconnection studies and negotiations with providers.
• Provide engineering leadership and mentorship to project teams.
• Oversee design reviews, NEC/IEEE code compliance, and site construction support.
• Develop commissioning plans and witness testing for HV systems.
