Job summary

Broadcom in San Jose is seeking a System Signal/Power Integrity Engineer to drive SI/PI for high-speed SerDes systems up to 400G. You will model with HFSS/ADS, collaborate across Package/PCB/Silicon teams, and validate results with VNA/TDR measurements.

Responsibilities include developing LE models, evaluating materials, and ensuring accurate design simulations. The role requires strong knowledge of SI/PI, and close interaction with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS +12 years, MS +10 years or PhD +7 years in Electrical Engineering or Physics with relevant experience.
• Experience in high-speed digital SI, transmission-line theory, and numerical field solver theory.
• Proficiency in PCB/package design and photonics considerations.

Responsibilities

• Support high data rate SerDes applications - up to 400G systems.
• System level Signal and Power Integrity design trade-offs and debug.
• Collaborate with package, PCB, and silicon designers to complete measurement-simulation correlation projects.
• Develop models with electromagnetic field solvers (HFSS, SIWave, Q3D, Polar).
• Understand laminate design and fabrication techniques for package and PCB designs.
• Evaluate system, PCB and package material and connector solutions for future designs.
• Simulate schematic models and environments within Keysight ADS.
• Perform VNA/TDR measurement techniques (50GHz+) and correlate with models.
• Provide feedback and learnings from measurement-simulation investigations to improve modeling.
• Capture high fidelity lab measurements for correlation and debug.
