Job summary

Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS), a division of Amphenol Corporation, is seeking an experienced Connector Development Engineer to join our team to design and develop next-generation interconnect products. This role focuses on high-speed and power connectors, including card edge, memory, and storage connectors, and requires collaboration with global teams and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 5–8+ years of connector or cable assembly design experience.
• Experience with card edge, memory, and power connectors.
• Familiar with PCIe, DDR, OCP, JEDEC, SFF standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across global teams.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling tools and PDM systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead connector and interconnect development projects from concept to qualification.
• Design high-speed connectors and cable assemblies.
• Collaborate with global customers and cross-functional teams to define requirements.
• Apply server/storage architecture knowledge and industry standards.
• Develop prototypes and oversee testing and qualification.
• Analyze costs and provide design trade-offs for manufacturing.
• Benchmark competitive products and drive differentiation.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing.
• Partner with Manufacturing to address cost reduction and quality.
• Stay current with interconnect trends to guide future development.
