Amphenol Communications Solutions (ACS) seeks a Mechanical Application Development Engineer to lead design and development of high-speed connectors and cable assemblies for telecom, data center and industrial applications.

The role involves collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to translate requirements into manufacturable concepts, and ensuring product performance while meeting cost targets. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in product development/design.
• BS in Mechanical Engineering (Electrical/Electronic Engineering degree alternative).
• Experience designing and developing high speed connectors, cable assemblies and cable systems.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical reasoning and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and conduct technical projects for electrical connectors and cable systems.
• Develop custom products with customers and management to meet requirements.
• Translate requirements into product concepts and drawings, BOMs and manufacturing steps.
• Contribute to manufacturability assessments and cost targets.
• Provide technical support to Sales and Marketing including training and customer visits.
• Coordinate testing and qualifications to ensure conformance with specs and performance.
