Job summary

Independence Excavating, Inc. is seeking an accomplished Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from planning through completion. You will manage budgets, schedules, submittals, RFIs, contracts, and purchase orders, while interfacing professionally with owners.

This role reports to the Senior Project Manager and demands strong leadership across multiple sites. Ideal candidates have substantial experience in large commercial construction, superb organizational skills,

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience managing large commercial construction projects.
• Must have strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks.
• Ability to develop positive working relationships with owners, project engineers, and local government.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and return submittals for manufactured/provided items.
• Coordinate with Superintendent/Operations to determine equipment and crew needs.
• Assemble job cost codes and regularly update.
• Coordinate subcontractors and material deliveries on major items.
• Review and approve subcontractor/supplier estimates and invoices.
• Negotiate and coordinate Extra Work Orders and CORs for scope changes.
• Monitor production and total cost to maintain project profitability.
• Prepare monthly job cost/profit projections.
