Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. is seeking a Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead major Austin, TX civil projects from preconstruction to closeout. You will drive planning, scheduling, budgeting, and coordination with owners, GCs, engineers, and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has 6–8+ years in civil projects, with expertise in earthwork and underground utilities, and a proven safety-focused leadership approach. On-site role with local presence required.

Qualifications

• Construction related degree in CM, CE, or similar.
• 6 to 8+ years of civil project management experience.
• Diverse project experience with earthwork and underground utilities.
• Proven track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
• Strong scheduling and project management software experience (MS Project, Primavera, Procore).
• Must live locally to Austin, TX.

Responsibilities

• Champion a culture of safety and ensure plans, crews, and subcontractors meet safety standards.
• Lead kickoff and turnover from estimating, review bid documents and assumptions.
• Support estimating on bids and pricing as needed.
• Develop project work plan, baseline schedule, and budget with operations leadership.
• Plan and allocate resources to meet schedule and budget.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and contract negotiations.
• Oversee subcontracts and purchase orders; coordinate with vendors.
