Job summary

Solid Rock Recruiting, LLC. is seeking a Heavy Civil Project Manager for underground utilities. This role combines hands-on leadership with frequent corporate office time, requiring travel about four weeks per month to manage nationwide projects.

You will oversee underground utility, water, and sewer projects from preconstruction through closeout, maintain safety culture, and manage budgets, scopes, and schedules using HCSS, HeavyJob, and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Two+ years in heavy civil underground utility construction, PM experience preferred.
• Travel nationwide is required as projects run 1–3 years.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with standard office software (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead underground utility, water and sewer projects from preconstruction to closeout.
• Promote safety through site visits and planning with field leadership.
• Develop budgets, scopes, schedules and execution plans.
• Review drawings, permits and contracts; resolve issues.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers, superintendents, crews and subs.
• Lead preconstruction meetings; manage subcontractor schedules and costs.
• Maintain project documentation and track progress against budget and schedule.
