Job summary

Maximus is seeking a senior software engineering leader to provide strategic direction for the IT Applications Development team, guiding design, development, and integration of a COTS healthcare system serving Medicaid clients.

You will oversee multiple engineering teams, drive SDLC compliance, and partner with delivery and product managers to ensure high-quality, compliant solutions for State Medicaid customers. Requires 10+ years in software development with 5+ years in leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years of software development experience with 5+ years in technical leadership or management.
• Proven experience overseeing delivery for enterprise healthcare systems, preferably Medicaid-related.
• Experience managing and supporting teams working on COTS products.
• Strong understanding of SDLC, release and change management, and application maintenance and defect remediation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of a COTS healthcare system serving Medicaid clients.
• Provide direction for multiple teams through collaboration with other managers.
• Define development processes and ensure SDLC, change, release management, and quality assurance compliance.
• Collaborate with delivery managers, product managers, QA teams, and operations teams.
• Support implementation and post-implementation stabilization for State Medicaid customers.
