Farnsworth Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager - Healthcare to lead the design and delivery of complex healthcare mechanical systems. You will manage teams, coordinate with architecture, electrical, and other disciplines, and ensure compliance with IMC, IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, and FGI standards.

Ideal candidates bring 12–15+ years in healthcare design, PE license, strong leadership, and client-facing communication.

Formación

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and PE licensure.
• Typically 12–15+ years of progressive experience in building mechanical design, including healthcare projects.
• Experience leading mechanical leads or project management on multi-disciplinary healthcare projects.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and healthcare codes and standards (IMC, IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, FGI).
• Proficiency with HVAC load calculations, central plant design, and BAS/controls, and BIM coordination with Revit.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team on healthcare projects from pursuit through construction closeout.
• Serve as mechanical discipline lead on multi-disciplinary project teams and coordinate with architecture, electrical, plumbing, and others.
• Support projects primarily in Illinois and the greater St. Louis region with travel to client sites and offices.
• Oversee and perform design of mechanical systems including HVAC, central plant, ventilation, hydronics, and medical gas systems.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards (IMC, IPC, IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, FGI).
• Provide technical review and quality control of calculations, drawings, specs, and reports.
• Guide system-level decision-making with clients and stakeholders; mentor engineering staff.
• Lead and support project management tasks including planning, staffing, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Build and maintain relationships with healthcare clients, contractors, and regulators.
• Contribute to practice growth through proposals and client development activities.
• Champion firm standards, BIM workflows, and coordination processes for healthcare projects.
• Stay current with sustainability and evolving healthcare codes and decarbonization strategies.
