Farnsworth Group in Illinois is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager - Healthcare to lead planning, design, and delivery of mechanical systems for hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, medical office buildings, and specialized clinical spaces. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
• 12–15+ years of progressive experience in building mechanical design with healthcare projects.
• Experience serving as mechanical lead and/or project manager on multi-disciplinary healthcare projects.
• Solid knowledge of mechanical/healthcare codes and standards and their application to hospitals.
• Proficiency with HVAC load calculations, central plant design, and BAS/controls.
• Revit and BIM coordination proficiency; Navisworks familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team on healthcare projects from pursuit through construction closeout.
• Serve as mechanical discipline lead on multi-disciplinary project teams, coordinating with other design disciplines.
• Support projects primarily in Illinois and the greater St. Louis region, with occasional travel for coordination.
• Oversee and perform design of HVAC, central plant, ventilation, hydronic systems, and related medical gas where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards and perform technical quality control of calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Guide system-level decision-making and lead project management tasks including staffing, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Develop client relationships and mentor engineers and designers for career growth.
