Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an experienced electrical engineering leader for healthcare building projects, including new construction, renovations, and occupied clinical environments. You will own technical design and production oversight, mentor engineers, and coordinate with project managers and staff.

The role emphasizes power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, grounding, and compliance with NEC and healthcare codes, with a focus on QA/QC and client coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 5–7 years of post-education experience in electrical design for buildings.
• Engineer in Training Certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of NEC, building and energy codes, and healthcare design.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; ability to maintain organized design docs.

Responsibilities

• Provide experienced technical leadership for healthcare electrical design projects, focusing on power distribution, lighting, and life safety.
• Oversee day-to-day electrical design and production activities coordinating with PMs, leads, and staff.
• Own significant portions of technical design including calculations, equipment sizing, diagrams, specs, and schedules.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, review work and promote sound engineering practices.
• Coordinate discipline design with mechanical, architectural, and medical equipment teams; ensure cross-disciplinary integration.
