Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead healthcare design projects, from concept through construction, focusing on power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and coordination with multi‑discipline teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, perform and review calculations, and ensure compliance with NEC and healthcare codes while delivering high‑quality design documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant post‑education experience producing electrical design deliverables for building projects.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and building electrical systems.
• Working knowledge of NEC and healthcare codes.
• Experience coordinating and managing technical tasks within larger projects.
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; maintain clear documentation.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Occasional travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as experienced technical lead for healthcare electrical design projects, with emphasis on power distribution, lighting, and life safety.
• Oversee day-to-day electrical design and production activities; coordinate priorities among teams.
• Take ownership of significant portions of technical design including calculations, diagrams, and specs.
• Provide hands-on technical guidance to junior engineers; review work and decisions.
• Perform and review electrical calculations and studies relevant to healthcare facilities.
• Lead discipline coordination with mechanical, architectural, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with electrical, building, energy, and life safety codes and standards.
• Provide QA/QC of drawings, specs, calculations, and deliverables; close coordination gaps.
