Job summary

Sentara Health in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a Senior Healthcare Data Analyst who translates vendor file specifications into detailed data mapping documentation and maps source data elements to Enterprise Data Platform structures and business rules.

You will serve as a liaison among business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure data is properly integrated, transformed, validated, and delivered within the analytics ecosystem, while supporting data quality and data stewardship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in analytics, statistics, informatics, business, public health, or related field (Required).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, data mapping, ETL, data warehouse, or related data environments.
• Advanced-level skills in Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI, data validation, Databricks.
• Experience developing source-to-target mapping documentation, business requirements, and technical specifications.
• Ability to interpret source system documentation, file specifications, data dictionaries and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Convert vendor-provided file specifications, layouts, and business requirements into detailed data mapping documentation.
• Align source data elements with Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) structures and applicable business rules.
• Serve as a liaison among business stakeholders, vendors, and technical teams to ensure data is integrated, transformed, validated, and delivered within the analytics ecosystem.
• Support data quality and data stewardship functions to maintain data accuracy.
• Communicate findings clearly with operational, clinical, finance, or executive stakeholders.
