Job summary

Prompt Health is hiring a Senior Healthcare Integrations Software Engineer to build scalable APIs and robust EDI solutions for the healthcare ecosystem. You will work with infrastructure and product teams to deliver secure, high-volume data interchange with partners of all sizes.

The role emphasizes HL7/FHIR knowledge, 837/277/999/835 transactions, HIPAA compliance, and cross-functional collaboration to modernize rehab therapy software ecosystems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven software development experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong API design, development, and integration capabilities.
• Experience scaling APIs cost-effectively.
• Proficiency in PHP or Python, with willingness to learn new languages.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new languages and tech stacks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Architect scalable, fault-tolerant software for high-volume messaging.
• Design evolution of EDI/API data mappings for clearinghouses.
• Implement robust error handling, logging, and retries.
• Collaborate with external clearinghouse partners to troubleshoot integrations.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and data security in designs and audits.
• Document features, workflows, and processes clearly.
• Transition between languages and technologies as needed.
