American Water is seeking a Lead, Health & Safety (Ops) to lead health and safety strategy, programs, compliance, training, and risk management for state operations. This role reports to the VP of Operations and collaborates with operations leadership and corporate safety teams to protect employees, contractors, and communities while driving operational excellence.

Location options include Alexandira, Woodbridge or Hopewell, VA, with travel within the state.

Formación

• 8+ years of related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, occupational environment health and safety, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification.

Responsabilidades

• Lead health and safety strategy at state level operations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards.
• Deliver health and safety training with Corporate Safety.
• Partner with HR and LR teams at the state level.
• Assist with workers’ compensation, general liability and product liability.
• Oversee insurance and litigated claims processes.
• Prepare and submit required annual regulatory reports.
• Ensure timely investigation of claims and accidents.
