American Water is seeking a Health & Safety Program Manager to lead safety programs across our Illinois operations, based in Godfrey. You will train staff, conduct inspections, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a safety/health field, strong regulatory knowledge, and the ability to influence across a matrix organization. On-site schedule with travel as needed to support enterprise programs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of OSHA, Federal, State and Local regulations as applicable utilities and construction.
• Ability to develop and deliver health and safety training and procedures.
• Experience in safety program management within utilities or industrial settings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for policy and reporting.

Responsabilités

• Lead enterprise health and safety programs and ensure policy alignment across management levels.
• Develop inspections checklists and oversee safety inspections and corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and educate employees on safe practices and emergency procedures.
• Investigate incidents, analyze data and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor regulatory changes and adapt practices accordingly.
• Coordinate and verify safety recordkeeping and reporting across the enterprise.
• Engage mid-level management and hourly staff in program delivery and verification.
