Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking an HCM Business Analyst to join the ERP team. The role focuses on payroll optimization and core HR within PeopleSoft, partnering with HR and IT to translate requirements into a detailed design package.

The successful candidate will analyze HCM processes, define workflows, conduct data integrity audits, and support integrations while communicating complex analyses clearly to stakeholders. Evening/weekend work may be required for critical needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field with five years of relevant work experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in PeopleSoft North American Payroll, Compensation, Core HR, and Security modules.
• Experience with PeopleSoft Approval framework, Forms, Dashboards, and Org Charts.
• Demonstrated work experience in complex HCM business analysis in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to write complex reports using SQL and Query Manager.
• Knowledge of PeopleSoft functional data flow and parent-child relationships in all modules.
• Experience with the latest PeopleSoft 8.59+ tools and 9.2 application features.
• Preferred: Experience with Absence Management and Time & Labor; basic understanding of PeopleSoft proprietary programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Analyze HCM business processes, create gap analyses, define workflows, gather requirements, and provide solutions.
• Optimize payroll business processes and configuration support, perform validations, and develop risk mitigation plans.
• Perform daily audits to maintain data integrity of all HCM modules.
• Translate business requirements into design documents for implementation by technology teams.
• Collaborate with HR users to maintain Salary Admin plans, Grades, and Steps and perform mass salary loads.
• Write SQLs or use data analysis methods to identify transfers and seniority calculations.
• Support third-party integrations with the HCM system and bolt-on applications.
