Job summary

Axon is seeking a Sr. Engineer II on the Product Integrity team in Phoenix to lead validation for hardware programs from requirements through production release. You will apply AI/ML-driven analysis, modeling, and digital twins to predict failures, optimize test coverage, and shorten validation cycles.

Location: onsite at Phoenix, Deer Valley. You will mentor engineers, set test standards, and collaborate across Hardware, Firmware, Quality, and Regulatory teams to shape strategy and ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of experience in hardware test, validation, or reliability engineering.
• Proven track record leading validation for complex electromechanical or electronic hardware products through mass production.
• Hands-on experience applying AI/ML, statistical modeling, or simulation to optimize test strategy and reduce cycle time.
• Deep expertise in environmental and reliability test methods and the standards that govern them.
• Strong software/scripting skills for test automation, data pipelines, and modeling tools.
• Experience leading failure analysis and root-cause investigations on ambiguous hardware issues.
• Excellent communication skills with senior leadership.
• Experience with connected/IoT hardware is a plus.
• Six Sigma Black Belt certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own validation strategy and execution for technically complex hardware programs from requirements through prototype and production release.
• Design, plan, and execute advanced validation test plans covering functional, environmental, EMC/EMI, reliability, and safety testing.
• Advance testing methodology by introducing AI/ML-driven analysis, predictive modeling, and simulation to identify failure modes earlier and reduce physical test cycles.
• Build and champion tools/models like digital twins and accelerated life models to optimize test coverage and shorten validation timelines.
• Support Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis with cross-functional teams to drive corrective action.
• Set technical standards for Validation Test Procedures, test automation, and data infrastructure.
• Partner with Hardware, Firmware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Regulatory teams to shape test strategy and reliability requirements.
• Represent Product Integrity in technical reviews and influence design decisions with data-driven risk assessments.
• Mentor Sr. Engineers and Technicians on advanced test methods and statistical techniques.
• Evaluate and pilot new test technologies and AI/tools for adoption across the team.
