Job summary

Tarana Wireless is seeking a Senior Hardware QA & Diagnostics Engineer to own the technical execution of hardware failure analysis across the fleet. You will lead investigations from returned units through root cause and corrective action, building automation, data, and cross-functional processes to scale QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of hands-on hardware QA, failure analysis, or embedded systems experience.
• Proven ownership of hardware investigations from symptom to corrective action.
• Strong proficiency with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, serial tools).
• Ability to isolate hardware faults from firmware/software/configuration issues.
• Strong Python and/or Bash skills for automation and data analysis.
• Experience in embedded Linux environments and interpreting system logs.
• Experience defining QA/test plans and roadmaps for diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end RMA and failure-analysis investigations from symptom to corrective action.
• Own diagnostic results and maintain clear separation of hardware, firmware, and software issues.
• Define and improve diagnostic methods, test plans, and data standards.
• Design and maintain production-quality Python/Bash automation and tools.
• Lead complex investigations across RF, memory, power, and timing subsystems.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues.
• Identify systemic trends and track corrective actions to closure.
• Lead power-on verification and diagnostic readiness for new hardware revisions.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to standards and processes.
