Job summary

Tarana is seeking a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to lead the development of our ngFWA platform. You will collaborate across hardware, firmware, and software teams to design, implement, and validate high-performance features.

You will own large capabilities from concept to delivery, write automation scripts, and work in an electronic lab to debug and optimize systems. A strong technical leadership background is essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science/Engineering; MS preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
• Expert knowledge of Linux/RTOS platform development in modern multi-core ARM embedded systems.
• 9+ years of C/C++ embedded systems development experience.
• Technical leadership skills and a history of owning large features.
• Ability to write scripts and automate tasks with Python and Bash.
• Hands-on experience with cross-compilation toolchains targeting embedded Linux.
• Comfortable in an electronic lab environment with common lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with HW, FW, SW engineers and PMs to design, develop, integrate, and test new features.
• Provide platform software expertise to enable developers to build stable, high-performance products.
• Validate functionality, reproduce and debug issues, set up tests, and provide software support in the lab.
• Investigate datasheets and reference boards with suppliers to guide design improvements.
• Assist manufacturing with component qualification, BOM updates, and pre-provisioning.
