Job summary

Cisco Systems in San Jose is seeking a senior hardware power electronics engineer to lead NPI for the Enterprise Access Point program. You will collaborate with hardware design, RF, firmware and mechanical teams to deliver high-density, thermally optimized power solutions for mass production.

The role requires 8+ years in power electronics and end-to-end hardware development, RF design experience, and hands-on use of LTspice, Allegro and other tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of end-to-end hardware development with at least one product launch.
• Experience in RF system design and wireless standards.
• Proficiency with buck, buck-boost, flyback and LLC topologies.
• Experience with industry tools such as Concept, Allegro, LTspice, PSpice, Simplis, Mathcad, PowerDC, SIWave, Ansys, or Hyperlynx.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware NPI for Cisco Enterprise Access Point programs from architecture to mass production.
• Drive design and implementation of complex power systems; optimize efficiency and thermal performance.
• Author PRDs, participate in RFQs, validate designs with analyzers and programmable power sources.
• Mentor team on power topologies, analog design and component selection.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Sourcing, Packaging, Certification and Quality to manage schedules.
• Perform FA/RCA/CAR/8D and ensure DFM/QA throughout the design process.
• Collaborate with firmware and mechanical teams to ensure power designs are integrated and thermally compliant.
