Job summary

CHEP Brambles in Santa Clara, CA, seeks a Senior Hardware Engineer for a hybrid role. You will lead hardware design, bring-up, and production support for IoT devices, collaborating with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in hardware, strong RF/wireless, low-power design, and hands-on debugging. You will manage external design partners across Asia and drive design reviews with DFM/DFT practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 8+ years in hardware.
• Experience with schematics in OrCAD Capture and PCB layout.
• Proficiency in RF/wireless for IoT (BLE, Wi‑Fi, Thread, Zigbee, LoRa, Cellular).
• Strong hardware debugging with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers.
• Knowledge of design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and validation of hardware systems, including schematic capture, PCB design, hardware bring-up, and production support.
• Own low-power and RF hardware design for IoT products, driving architecture, component selection, power optimization, wireless integration, and technical trade-off decisions.
• Perform hands-on debugging, testing, root-cause analysis, and resolution of design, manufacturing, and field issues using lab equipment.
• Manage external design partners and subcontractors, ensuring quality, schedule, and deliverable execution.
• Collaborate with firmware, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to deliver products from concept through production.
