Job summary

Raytheon’s Radar Mechanical Design Department seeks an experienced Associate Director Engineer to serve as Hardware Lead for the Ground-Based Radar Digitization program. You will oversee hardware updates across multiple radar sites and drive modernization to ensure system continuity.

In this role you will lead cross-functional teams, manage EVMS, plan budgets, and coordinate with customers and leadership to deliver on schedule and performance.

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a STEM degree and 12 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 10 years’ experience.
  • Experience leading and participating in design and development activities of Radar Design technologies.
  • Experience in leadership positions.
  • Experience preparing both technical and cost proposals.
  • Experience with EVMS Earned Value Management and other program management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, and Quality through production, issue resolution, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Demonstrate knowledge implementing EVMS and Risk & Opportunity Management.
  • Plan, budget, and track to cost and schedule.
  • Balance Engineering production support with customer schedule requirements.
  • Regularly review program status with Engineering and Program Leadership.
  • Apply hardware engineering expertise to ensure successful technical execution.
  • Collaborate with chief engineer, technical leads, and Mission Assurance.
  • Provide technical conscience ensuring product and process meet standards.
  • Advise leadership on risk conditions and technical decisions.
