Job summary

Raytheon Marlborough, MA is seeking an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical teams across radar development programs. You will drive hardware design, integration, and verification for phase array radars and associated electronics, coordinating with cross-functional groups to meet technical, cost, schedule, and performance goals.

Qualified candidates will have a STEM degree with 8+ years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree with 5+ years), strong GD&T and CREO

Qualifications

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years experience.
  • Experience in radar architecture or electronics packaging for military/aerospace/commercial applications.
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances).

Responsibilities

  • Utilize mechanical hardware design for ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, and array integration of phase array radars.
  • Develop technical solutions across the product lifecycle: proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phase array radars/electronics.
  • Lead design release transitions to production.
  • Provide technical conscience to ensure product and process meet standards and requirements while removing roadblocks.
  • Work with minimal supervision and set technical objectives while meeting cost, schedule, quality, and performance targets.
  • Lead a small team of mechanical engineers when required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on significant technical matters.
