Job summary

Raytheon is seeking a seasoned mechanical engineer to drive design and development of phased array radar hardware and electronics packaging. You will lead cross‑functional teams through concept to test, ensuring manufacturability, performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years in radar architecture or electronics packaging.
• Experience in designing radar architecture or electronics packaging for military/aerospace or commercial applications.
• Experience with ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T in practice.

Responsibilities

• Work with mechanical teams through concept, design, development, build and test phases.
• Develop solutions for complex problems across the product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phased array radars/electronics.
• Create definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, component selection, mechanical drawings, and electrical/RF layouts.
• Lead design release into production with transition-to-production practices.
• Collaborate with senior personnel and possibly external customers on significant technical matters requiring cross-organizational coordination.

Education

Bachelor's degree in STEM
