Job summary

Teradyne, a global test and automation specialist, is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineering Manager in North Reading, MA. You will co-lead DC/power instrumentation programs, guide hardware engineers, and coordinate with software, FPGA, mechanics, and operations teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

You’ll drive product strategy, manage cross-functional efforts, and ensure schedule and cost targets are met while maintaining high quality and customer readiness for complex hardware systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
• 10+ years hardware design experience.
• 5+ years people management across multiple disciplines.
• 5+ years product leadership for complex hardware products.
• Experience in leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead DC/power instrumentation programs end-to-end, including competitiveness and time-to-market.
• Define product vision, roadmap and strategy aligned with business goals.
• Act as the primary product advocate with Product Management and field teams.
• Balance performance, quality, cost and manufacturability in decisions.
• Lead hardware engineering team, coaching and development.
• Establish technical vision, architecture and development approach.
• Lead major technical trade studies across hardware, software, FPGA, mechanical and calibration.
• Ensure requirements are defined, allocated, traced and validated at system level.
• Serve as escalation point and drive resolution of complex issues.
• Provide hands-on leadership during prototypes, integration and production readiness.
