Job summary

Teradyne's Defense & Aerospace division is seeking a Hardware Engineer in North Reading, MA to design and bring up high‑speed PCBA hardware for mission‑critical test instrumentation. You will work across mechanical, software, and systems teams to deliver robust hardware with manufacturability in mind.

The role emphasizes schematic and PCB design, validation, and in-depth HW debugging, with opportunities to influence product release decisions and hardware reliability in demanding defense programs.

Qualifications

• BSEE or MSEE is required.
• 5–12 years PCBA design and simulation experience, schematic/circuit design focus.
• Experience designing complex, high-speed, multi-layer PCB assemblies and reviewing artwork designs.
• Strong circuit characterization, verification, and debug skills.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Implement PCB design processes with sound architecture and schematic capture.
• Design, build, and maintain prototyping plans for new products and bring-up.
• Debug analog, digital, and bus-based hardware using lab equipment and capture verification data.
• Communicate design status, verification results, and risks clearly.
• Interact with product managers and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and testability.
• Work with operations and NPI teams to ensure designs are highly manufacturable.
• Execute verification strategies beyond nominal conditions including worst-case analyses.
• Support design reviews to reduce design risk and respin rate.
