Job summary

Teradyne is seeking a Senior Director, Hardware Products Engineering to lead the Compute Test Division’s hardware organization and drive the delivery of next-generation semiconductor test instruments. Based in Massachusetts, the role reports to the VP of Engineering and oversees multiple locations and hundreds of staff.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• 15+ years of product development experience, including leadership responsibility.
• Proven success leading engineering managers and multidisciplinary hardware organizations.
• Demonstrated track record delivering complex electronic products from concept through production.
• Strong understanding of instrumentation, electronics, embedded systems, verification and product development processes.
• Experience managing resource plans, organizational growth and technical execution across multiple programs.
• Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; ability to coach and guide teams.
• Preferred experience with semiconductor test equipment or instrumentation development.
• Preferred experience in a tier-one corporation known for world-class hardware products and rapid development.

Responsibilities

• Lead CTD’s Hardware Products Engineering organization and develop its strategy for ASICs, ASSPs, and key technology partnerships.
• Develop and maintain multiyear product and technology roadmaps aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
• Build organizational capability by recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining engineering managers and staff.
• Ensure predictable execution across the hardware portfolio from concept through production release.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Software, FPGA, PM, Product Management, Operations, NPI, and Supply Chain.
• Partner with executives, customers, suppliers, and technology partners to improve productivity through AI, automation, and data-driven decisions.
