Job summary

Teradyne's Defense & Aerospace division seeks a Hardware Engineer in North Reading, MA to design and bring up high‑reliability PCB assemblies for mission-critical test instrumentation. You will work with mechanical, software, and systems teams to translate requirements into robust hardware, driving manufacturability and testability across the development lifecycle.

The role emphasizes schematic capture, PCB layout guidance, prototype bring-up, diagnostics, and design-for-manufacturing practices

Qualifications

Requires degree in engineering and circuit design expertise.
5-12 years PCBA design and simulation experience with schematic/circuit design.
Experience designing complex, high-speed multi-layer PCBs and artwork review.
Strong circuit characterization, verification, and debug skills.
Experience cross-functional teamwork and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

Implement PCB design processes with sound architecture and schematic capture.
Design, build, and maintain prototyping plans with thorough bring-up and validation.
Debug analog, digital, and bus hardware using lab equipment and analyzers.
Communicate design status, verification results, and risks clearly.
Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams for manufacturability.
Ensure designs are manufacturable and integrate with operations.
Execute verification including worst-case and environmental analysis.
Support design reviews to reduce risk and avoid respin.
