Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Seattle is seeking a senior hardware engineering leader to drive a team delivering high‑performing server designs from conception through manufacturing and maturation.

You will oversee core system components such as CPU and memory, coordinating with silicon providers, ODMs, and internal customers to keep AWS EC2 at the cutting edge while controlling cost and delivering reliable, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of engineering experience.
• 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 8+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering cloud hardware experience with primary focus on CPU and memory.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Drive a team to deliver best in class performance of our novel hardware designs from inception, through manufacturing, implementation and maturation.
• Ensure all core system components, including CPU and memory, are meeting or exceed the high performance bar, while ensuring performance is healthy across the fleet of EC2 servers.
• Organize a team of skilled hardware and system development engineers to partner with our silicon suppliers, ODMs, and internal customers to ensure we maintain a high performing system component roadmap.
• Define implementation strategy and report status frequently to senior leadership. Your work will directly enable AWS to launch our next generation server designs.
