Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking an experienced circuit design engineer to develop advanced network timing equipment, including PTP grandmasters and NTP servers, spanning analog and digital design, DDR memories, FPGAs, and MCUs.

The role requires hands-on ownership from architecture through PCB bring-up, validation, and sustaining support, collaborating with hardware, software, marketing, test, and manufacturing teams across the full product lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering/Science; Master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of hands-on circuit design experience.
  • Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design concepts and principles.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and related test equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define new product features, requirements, and system-level tradeoffs.
  • Develop analog and digital circuit designs and create schematics using CAD tools.
  • Create detailed hardware design documentation and test plans.
  • Partner with PCB layout engineers on board layout, signal integrity, manufacturability, and design reviews.
  • Contribute to system architecture, component selection, and hardware implementation planning.
  • Enter and maintain design data in the Agile PLM system.
  • Support software and digital design engineers during board bring-up, driver development, and validation of board-level functions.
  • Drive hardware development from concept through finished product, including bring-up, validation, release, and sustaining support.
