Job summary

Mercury Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a small, collaborative team in a high-reliability electronics environment in Massachusetts. You will design, analyze, and test complex subsystems and rugged server components, focusing on thermal management and open standards packaging.

Key duties include creating detailed SolidWorks models, drafting BOMs, supporting environmental tests, and coordinating with Hardware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related technical field.
• Typically requires 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of heat transfer and thermal management.
• Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks).
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and documentation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance in the future.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical packaging design, PCB layout support, and connector selection for rugged subsystems.
• Collaborate across Hardware, Manufacturing, Quality, and Procurement daily.
• Take products from concept through integration, test, and production release.
• Design mechanical hardware for rugged military applications.
• Create complex models and drawings in SolidWorks and manage BOMs.
• Support verification testing: thermal, airflow, vibration, humidity, etc.
• Drive procurement of prototype material and perform failure analysis with teams.
• Draft test plans, inspection reports, and manage ECO/ECR processes.
