Job summary

A2e Technologies is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer in the San Diego area for a long-term contract/Perm role. You will design high-speed digital boards, bring them up in a lab, and ensure testability and reliability for space hardware programs.

The role requires expertise with DDR, FPGAs, networking, and schematic capture tools, plus a strong debugging mindset. Responsibilities include performing tests, generating test plans, and reporting results, while applying SI/PI methods and industry

Qualifications

  • Experience designing high-speed digital boards (>1GHz signals) with DDR, FPGAs, Networking.
  • Experience with EMC mitigation techniques and testing.
  • Signal integrity and power integrity simulation experience; Vivado/Quartus familiarity.
  • Schematic capture with Altium, OrCAD, or DxDesigner; test equipment usage including oscilloscopes and probes.
  • Ability to bring up circuit boards in a professional lab and run test cases with thorough reporting.
  • Knowledge of verification methodologies and space industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Bring up circuit boards and execute tests in a lab setting.
  • Perform debugging and root-cause analysis with detailed reports.
  • Develop test cases and document results for quality assurance.
  • Work with power supplies, function generators, DMMs, scopes and probes.
  • Apply verification methodologies suitable for space hardware.
