Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to own compute and GPU server platform development from EVT through MP. You will lead bring‑up, validation, and cross‑functional collaboration with OEM/ODM, silicon, and component suppliers.

Responsibilities include defining requirements, guiding DFM, reviewing schematics, and managing BIOS/firmware features. The role requires 8+ years of experience, Linux prowess, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience in hardware engineering.
• Foundation in server architecture and board-level design/debug.

Responsibilities

• Own platform development for compute and GPU servers.
• Define requirements, review schematics/layouts, guide DFM, and drive platform NPI from EVT DVT MP.
• Lead bring-up and debug of boards and systems (power, thermal, storage, networking, manageability).
• Develop and execute validation plans, root-cause issues across HW/FW/SW.
• Collaborate with OEM/ODM, silicon, and component suppliers to balance performance, efficiency, supply continuity, and TCO.
• Manage component firmware/BIOS/OpenBMC feature sets.
