Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineer to own platform development for compute and GPU servers, driving NPI from EVT to MP and leading bring-up. You will collaborate with OEM/ODM to balance performance and cost while validating power, thermal, and reliability.

You will work with silicon partners to qualify PCIe Gen5/Gen6 GPUs and manage firmware/BIOS/OpenBMC features, with on-site presence in Cambridge 5 days a week.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant hardware experience with server platforms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field.
• Experience with platform bring-up, validation, and DFM guidance.

Responsibilities

• Own platform development for compute and GPU servers.
• Define requirements, review schematics/layouts, guide DFM, drive NPI from EVT to MP.
• Lead bring-up and debug of boards and systems (power, thermal, storage, networking, manageability).
• Develop and execute validation plans; root-cause issues across HW/FW/SW.
• Collaborate with OEM/ODM, silicon, and component suppliers to balance performance and cost.
• Manage component firmware/BIOS/OpenBMC features (performance/power/thermal, secure boot).
• Qualify PCIe Gen5/Gen6 GPUs, CPUs, NICs, DPUs, NVMe drives, DRAM.
