Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design to design and test PCBAs including power, mixed-signal, FPGA, and MCU circuitry. You will collaborate across teams to meet complex requirements and support manufacturing and testing through product life cycle.

The role requires a Master's in Electrical/Computer Engineering (ABET) and 15+ years in electronics design, with strong skills in signal integrity and high-speed designs.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 15+ years of electronics design and test from architecture through implementation.
• Advanced knowledge of digital/analog/mixed-signal electronics and interfaces.
• Experience with digital PCB design and debugging including embedded processors, MCUs or FPGAs.
• Proven experience with multi-layer PCBA design, test, and manufacture.
• Hands-on lab experience with instrumentation and debugging methods.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis abilities.
• Ability to translate system requirements into lower-level design elements.
• Ability to read schematics and system block diagrams; strong teamwork.
• Willingness to relocate to Huntsville, AL area or residency in North Alabama.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and test PCBAs including power supply, mixed-signal, FPGA, and MCU designs.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, technicians, and customers to meet requirements.
• Support issue resolution during manufacturing and test of deliverables.
• Troubleshoot board-level issues and identify root causes and corrective actions.
