Broadata Communications, Inc. in Torrance, CA is seeking a hands-on Senior Hardware Design Engineer to design, simulate, bring up, and validate complex mixed-signal and high-speed digital hardware for video, fiber, and mission-critical products.

This role emphasizes schematic design, PCB layout, signal integrity, and production release. The ideal candidate has extensive Altium Designer experience and familiarity with HFSS for high-speed interconnect analysis.

Qualifications

• 8+ years hands-on hardware design experience for high-speed analog/digital systems
• Strong experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout
• Practical experience in high-speed simulation, SI/PI, and multi-Gbps interfaces
• Experience with HDMI/DP/USB-C/HDMI and related standards
• Experience with medical, military, or high-reliability product development is a plus

Responsibilities

• Own board-level hardware design from requirements to production release
• Create multi-sheet Altium schematics for video, high-speed digital, and power circuits
• Support PCB layout with controlled impedance, routing, and manufacturability reviews
• Define high-speed layout requirements for HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C, PCIe, and more
• Perform pre/post-layout SI/PI analysis to reduce jitter and EMI
• Lead bring-up, debug, and root-cause analysis across prototypes and RMA events
• Validate hardware with oscilloscopes, TDR/VNA, BERT, and other test equipment
• Collaborate with PM, mechanical, firmware, FPGA, software, manufacturing, vendors
• Mentor junior engineers in high-speed layout and troubleshooting
