Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Hardware Design to design, implement, and test PCBAs including power, analog, FPGA, and MCU designs. You will work in a fast-paced team environment across the product life cycle, from concept to manufacturing and post-delivery support.

Ideal candidates hold a Master’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering (ABET) and have 15+ years in electronics design, with strong digital/analog/mixed-signal skills and ability to troubleshoot complex

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or ABET-accredited equivalent.
• 15+ years of electronics design and test experience from architecture to implementation.
• Advanced knowledge of digital/analog/mixed-signal electronics and interfaces.
• Experience in digital PCB design and troubleshooting including embedded processors, microcontrollers, or FPGA-based designs.
• Experience with design, test, troubleshooting, and manufacture of complex multi-layer PCBs.
• Hands-on lab experience with instrumentation and test methods.
• Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Ability to translate system requirements into lower design levels and interpret schematics and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Architect, implement, and test PCB assemblies including power, mixed-signal, FPGA, and MCU designs.
• Perform signal integrity analysis and power distribution design.
• Support manufacturing, test, and field issues; troubleshoot board-level problems.
• Collaborate with engineers, PMs, technicians, and customers to develop compliant solutions.
